Spirituals Night This Monterey Bay Area summer choral tradition reaches its 15th anniversary! Concerts will be held in both Monterey/Salinas and Santa Cruz. The program is a favorite for the participants and the audience alike. Spirituals and gospel music from our American heritage comprise a program packed with energy and emotion. Opportunity is always included for audience participation! The 70-voice Celebration Choir is the feature of the evening along with the exceptional talents of guest artists Tony Bolivar, jazz saxophonist, and Marti Williams, concert pianist. Admission is free since the concert is given as a gift to the community. Opportunity is given for donations to help underwrite the costs and support music education projects in the Monterey Bay Area and in the post-communist countries of Eastern Europe. The Monterey/Salinas concert includes a post-concert reception. The Santa Cruz concert—performed at the Mt. Hermon Conference Center makes available a pre-concert barbecue. Guests attending the barbecue are given preferred seating for the concert.
